About Past Life Regression
“Our body is just a vehicle for us while we are here. It is our soul and our spirit that last forever.” – Brian Weiss
What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is a deep relaxation technique where access to the subconscious mind is achieved. The methods used are gentle and reassuring, using deep breath work and visualisation techniques to engage the client’s imagination.
This feels rather like a deep daydream. The client is always in control of the process at all times. This isn’t hypnotism, it is therapy using hypnosis techniques and is completely safe and natural. While the client is in this trance state access to the subconscious mind is achieved.
The Subconscious mind
The brain has two sides, putting it simply. A left side and a right side. The right side facilitates the subconscious mind.
The subconscious mind is creative and uses imagination to communicate, often alongside feelings and emotions. It is responsible for 88% of all our mental activity and plays a vital part in managing all the automatic functions of the body. It is also an incredible memory bank, storing every experience, thought, action and emotion we have ever had. Not only in this lifetime but going way, way back into other incarnations.
The language of the subconscious is imagination. It “speaks” using metaphors (as in dreams), and pictures. It tells stories with meaning. It loves symbolism. It is very open to suggestion but it always acts for the good of the person and when it conveys information (as in dreams), it is always truthful (given that we understand the information it is trying to impart).
Hypnosis is a direct line to the subconscious mind and can be used for a variety of reasons. The hypnosis techniques bypass the conscious mind to directly communicate with the subconscious, prompting it to reveal the memories it holds. Specifically for our therapy uses, past and present life memories.
The Big Picture and the Therapy
“Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting;
The Soul that rises with us, our lifes’ star
Hath had elsewhere its setting
And cometh from afar: not in entire forgetfulness…”
-William Wordsworth
The Therapeutic Benefits of Past Life Regression
Illness, emotional and mental “issues” can be caused by trauma or injury “baggage” from a past life. Hypnotherapy is proving to be extremely effective in easing and in many instances, curing various fears, phobias, addictions and health conditions, both mental and physical.
There are many records of physical ailments, sometimes serious illnesses, being miraculously cured through Past Life Hypnotherapy. Malfunctions within our physical bodies can, to a great extent, be controlled through the subconscious mind. Our physical body responds to our subconscious, even when we are not consciously aware of it. For example, waking from a nightmare, sweating, heart racing. For a few seconds, the fear is very ‘real’.
As a modern society we are just beginning to understand the profound connection between the subconscious mind and the body, when in fact, many ancient societies knew this already.
What we are just beginning to really understand is, that this connection is a two way system. Our body communicates through manifesting illness too. Phantom pregnancy is an excellent illustration of this. The body will literally exhibit symptoms of pregnancy, even though there is no baby within the womb.
Whenever our body is less than healthy, it means there is a blockage or imbalance in our total energy system.
Our subconscious knows what the cause is, and is more than willing to show us. We can communicate with it, once in a deeply relaxed state, and ‘go to’ the experience, long forgotten, which is the root of the blockage.
The person goes back in time, to the memory, either in infancy, or some point forgotten in the present lifetime…or back further to the memories of past lifetimes. It should be noted, that, to the subconscious mind, there is no difference between present lifetime memories, or past life memories.Trauma from previous lifetimes impacts us no differently than trauma experienced a week ago.
Whilst we may have no conscious recollection of these instances of trauma and unhappiness, (for example, many adults have no conscious recollection of abuse suffered as children ), they are still lodged deep within our subconscious mind. The associated feelings are still present, but without the memory. But the memories are not lost. The subconscious memory bank still holds them. Safely stored until recollection is needed. I say “safely”, because once these memories are accessed, a release process begins.
By going back to our previous incarnations we effectively retrieve parts of us, which have previously been lost.
Using the process of hypnosis and by extension, hypnotherapy, a regression therapist can guide a person on a journey of retrieval and recovery, bringing a deep and profound sense of peace.
There are other reasons for undertaking Past Life Regression. Curiosity, anxiety or depression issues, personal development and growth, a need to find our soul mate, a historical obsession with a particular time or place in history, or even vague memories or De Ja Vu feelings when visiting new places, knowing we have never physically been there before, are all reasons why some people choose to be regressed.
Others, seek to understand recurring dreams, tap into Akashic records as well as seeking relief from chronic physical symptoms.
Or quite simply, a person may look to receive incite and guidance on a problem from their subconscious mind. Hypnosis trance and meditation provide access to unlimited knowledge and guidance from our higher selves. Our soul self.
Aims of the Therapy
Past Life Regression, can be defined as “a return to an earlier stage of development”. It is a technique used to take a person back in time during hypnosis. This can be to infancy and childhood in their present lifetime, or further back to the memories of previous lifetimes to explore them in detail.
“Go to the feelings, and in the acceptance of the feelings, the release begins……”

What does it feel like?
For each of us, as human beings, any experience we have will be unique. Generally, hypnotherapy is extremely relaxing and therapeutic.
Using breathing techniques, I will gently speak and guide you into a deep state of relaxation. Once you are completely relaxed, we will begin visualisation techniques, similar to daydreaming in order to access your past lives. This is a natural state for the mind to be in. You won’t fall asleep, and you will be completely in control and aware of what is happening throughout the entire process.
As you begin to experience a past life, with me as your guide, any fears, phobias, or trauma issues can then be explored and confronted in order to facilitate release and healing.
After your inner journey experience, you will be guided back to the present and to the room, where we will briefly discuss and process your experience.
From this point, you will be able to determine how you wish you to go forward in your therapy, and the options available for future regression.
